About Nayoleeka Purty

Nayoleeka Purty is a researcher and advocate working on Indigenous governance, traditional knowledge, constitutional law and dispute resolution. At the Adivasi Academy under Bhasha Trust, her research focuses on community custodianship, sui generis legal frameworks, Fifth Schedule governance beyond land rights and ethical governance of AI in relation to Indigenous rights. She is a member of the Drafting Committee for the National Tribal Policy of India and holds a B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) from RGNUL. Her paper “From Protection to Innovation: Reimagining the Governance of Indigenous Artificial Intelligence Entrepreneurship” has been accepted for presentation at the 2026 International Conference on Indigenous Knowledges, Systems, Wisdom & Technology in Bali.
