Second Edition | | Ranchi, Jharkhand
Following the successful first edition, where participants completed their own short films, Rumbul returns with the second edition of Documenting Our Own Tribal Culture; a hands-on filmmaking workshop for Indigenous youth from Jharkhand and beyond.
The workshop helps young people develop the skills to document their own communities, cultures, and lived experiences with care, dignity, and accuracy. Alongside visual storytelling, cinematography, documentary observation, and editing, this year’s programme will place special emphasis on narrative and storytelling, including story development, scriptwriting, and storyboarding.
Location: Ranchi, Jharkhand
Dates: 25 November – 5 December 2026
Workshop Mentors:
• Atul Badole — Filmmaker & Editor, Pune, Maharashtra
• Sneha Mundari: Filmmaker, Munda Indigenous community, Rourkela, Orissa
• Vikrant Bramate: Animator and Motion Graphics Expert, Ahmedabad, Gujarat
At its heart, the programme is about strengthening Indigenous authorship – enabling young people to move from being subjects of documentation to becoming the storytellers of their own cultures, histories, and futures.
