KAWANT AND THE BHAGORIA FESTIVAL
Kawant has been a historic gathering place for the Rathwa community since time immemorial. The Kawant Ger Mela is a jubilant celebration of life, community, and the harvest season. It is a time when Rathwa men and women, adorned in distinctive attire and elaborate jewelry come together to sing, dance, barter goods and discuss familial alliances. The event encapsulates the essence of Rathwa traditions with elders engaging in discussions on community affairs while younger generations participate in rituals, music and joyous revelry.
