Tribal Design Forum invites you to capture the spirit of the tribal people, culture and heritage of India through your photo essay (a series of five photographs) of the portrait of a knowledge-keeper of the tribal community through a series of five frames, that clearly identifies the person, his/her activities and his/her place in the tribal community, because of which the person can be considered as a knowledge-keeper of the community.
Identify knowledge-keepers from tribal communities of India and discover the unique cultures, heritage and communities that presents the richness, diversity, wisdom and worldviews of the tribal communities of India.
Click a series of pictures that best narrates the presentation of the knowledge-keepers and their importance and significance to the tribal communities.
We encourage you to present the unknown and unseen facets of the tribal communities and lifestyle in India to audiences through your entries.

How to Participate?
- The entry should be submitted to photo@tribaldesignforum.com latest by 10 December 2024, 1200 hrs.
- The entries should be submitted only after registering through the process mentioned above.
- Entries submitted without registration will not be accepted.
- The email with the entry should contain the candidate’s Full name / Contact no. / Brief description of the entry in not more than 500 words.

Rules of Participation
Eligibility
- Entry to the contest is open to both photography enthusiasts and professionals.
- Open to Indian nationals only.
- There is no age limit for the participants.
- Participation is open to individuals only.
- Each participant can send in a maximum of 5 entries.
Technical Criteria
- There is no fixed matrix or judging criteria. All entries will be judged individually and the winners will be selected by consensus of the specially empanelled Jury.
- The submissions must be high resolution .jpeg images.
- Each entry to be at least 8in X 12in at 300dpi minimum size.
- The file size of each entry must not be more than 20 MB.
- The photographs MUST be in a horizontal format.
- Vertical format photographs will be disqualified.
- The submitted work must not contain material(s) offensive to any particular community, group, individual or institution.
- Photo-editing can only be done to the extent of cropping, colour correction and tinting. Any of the allowed alterations, once made, must be clearly mentioned at the time of submission.
- Submitted entries that have previously been awarded at other competitions will not be considered eligible for entry and will face immediate disqualification.
- The incoming entries will be adjudicated by an eminent panel of photographers and industry professionals. The pictures will be judged on the relevance and the quality of perspective presented within the context of the contest theme.
Rights and Reproduction
- Any moral and paternity right regarding the project sent in for the contest is the photographer’s property.
- However, by submitting a photograph in the competition, the participant agrees to give Tribal Design Forum the first right of refusal to the exclusive use of the picture. This option is valid until 15 November 2025.
- All participants agree to allow their entries to be published or showcased by Tribal Design Forum in print, online and electronic media where it deems fit to promote Tribal Design Forum or the Tribal Heritage of India.
- Tribal Design Forum retains the right to publish the submissions and information associated with them and the participants in all communication exercises for Tribal Design Forum campaigns.
- All participants agree to allow registered members of Tribal Design Forum to use their pictures for editorial, academic and non-commercial usage, provided due credit is given to the photographer.
- Any employee or agent of the Organisers will NOT be liable for:
- any costs incurred/loss/liability suffered by participants in relation to the programme
- any lost expectation of profits by participant
- any failure by participant to understand their rights in relation to Intellectual Property or the rights of the Organizers in relation to Intellectual Property
- any other benefit applicants may expect to gain by participating in the programme

ट्राइबल डिज़ाइन फोरम आपको आमंत्रित करता है कि आप अपनी फोटो-निबंध (पांच चित्रों की श्रृंखला) के माध्यम से भारत के आदिवासी लोगों, संस्कृति और धरोहर की आत्मा को कैद करने का। इस फोटो-निबंध में किसी एक ज्ञान-वाहक के चित्र की पांच फ्रेमों की श्रृंखला होनी चाहिए, जो स्पष्ट रूप से उस व्यक्ति की पहचान, उसकी गतिविधियाँ और आदिवासी समुदाय में उसकी स्थिति को दर्शाती हो, जिससे उस व्यक्ति को समुदाय का ज्ञान-वाहक माना जा सके।
आपको भारत की आदिवासी समुदायों से ज्ञानवाहकों का पता लगाना है उन्हें पहचानना हैं और उनकी अनूठी संस्कृतियों, विरासतों और समुदायों से परिचित होना है , जो भारत की आदिवासी समुदायों की समृद्ध, विविधता, ज्ञान और दृष्टिकोण को प्रस्तुत करती हैं।
आपको ऐसी तस्वीरों की एक श्रृंखला खींचनी है जो इन ज्ञानवाहकों की प्रस्तुति और आदिवासी समुदायों में उनकी महत्ता और भूमिका को सबसे बेहतर तरीके से बयां कर सके।
हम आपको प्रोत्साहित करते हैं कि आप अपने प्रस्तुतियों के माध्यम से भारत के आदिवासी समुदायों और उनकी जीवनशैली के अनदेखे और अनजाने पहलुओं को दर्शकों के सामने लाएँ।

प्रतिभागिता के नियम
योग्यता
- प्रतियोगिता में भाग लेने के लिए शौकिया और पेशेवर फोटोग्राफर दोनों ही पात्र हैं।
- केवल भारतीय नागरिकों के लिए खुला है।
- प्रतिभागियों के लिए कोई आयु सीमा नहीं है।
- भागीदारी केवल एकल व्यक्ति के लिए खुली है।
- प्रत्येक प्रतिभागी केवल अधिकतम 5 एंट्री ही भेज सकता है।
तकनीकी मानदंड
- कोई निश्चित मैट्रिक्स या मूल्यांकन मानदंड नहीं हैं। सभी प्रविष्टियों का व्यक्तिगत रूप से मूल्यांकन किया जाएगा और विजेताओं का चयन विशेष रूप से नियुक्त जूरी की सहमति से किया जाएगा।
- प्रस्तुतियाँ उच्च गुणवत्ता वाले .jpeg चित्रों के रूप में होनी चाहिए।
- प्रत्येक प्रविष्टि की न्यूनतम आकार 8 इंच X 12 इंच और 300 dpi होनी चाहिए।
- प्रत्येक एंट्री की फ़ाइल का आकार 20 MB से अधिक नहीं होना चाहिए।
- चित्रों का प्रारूप क्षैतिज (horizontal) होना चाहिए।
- ऊर्ध्वाधर (vertical) प्रारूप वाले चित्र अयोग्य होंगे।
- आपके काम में किसी विशेष समुदाय, समूह, व्यक्ति या संस्था के प्रति आपत्तिजनक सामग्री नहीं होनी चाहिए।
- फोटो-एडिटिंग केवल क्रॉपिंग और रंग सुधार तक सीमित होनी चाहिए,इसके अलावा यदि कोई अन्य एडिटिंग हो तो उसका उल्लेखित किया जाना चाहिए।
- पूर्व में किसी अन्य प्रतियोगिताओं में पुरस्कार प्राप्त एंट्री अयोग्य मानी जाएँगी और तुरंत अयोग्य करार की जाएँगी ।
- इस प्रतियोगिता में सभी एंट्री का मूल्यांकन एक प्रसिद्ध फोटोग्राफरों और इंडस्ट्री के पेशेवरों के पैनल द्वारा किया जाएगा। चित्रों का मूल्यांकन प्रतियोगिता की थीम के संदर्भ में प्रस्तुत परिप्रेक्ष्य की प्रासंगिकता और गुणवत्ता के आधार पर किया जाएगा।
अधिकार और पुनरुत्पादन
- प्रतियोगिता के लिए भेजे गए प्रोजेक्ट से संबंधित किसी भी नैतिक और पितृत्व अधिकार फोटोग्राफर ही होंगे।
- हालांकि, प्रतियोगिता में फोटोग्राफ प्रस्तुत करके, प्रतिभागी Tribal Design Forum को फोटो के इस्तेमाल सम्बन्धी सभी प्रथम अधिकार फोरम को देते हैं यह अधिकार 15 नवंबर 2025 तक मान्य रहेगी।
- सभी प्रतिभागी अपनी सहमति देते हैं कि Tribal Design Forum अपनी पसंद के अनुसार प्रिंट, ऑनलाइन और इलेक्ट्रॉनिक माध्यम में उनकी एंट्री को प्रकाशित या प्रदर्शित कर सके, ताकि Tribal Design Forum या भारत की आदिवासी विरासत को बढ़ावा दिया जा सके।
