Dzerouengmit Lepcha aka Zeron, is a singer/songwriter from Gangtok, Sikkim. recently revealed her true identity after initially keeping it hidden. She captivated listeners with her unique name, which turned out to be her actual name rather than a stage name. What set Zeron apart from other artists was her ability to create a sense of home through her voice and melodies, incorporating traditional Sikkimese and Lepcha instruments.
Zeron emerged in the music scene on July 3, 2019, with the release of her song Changes on YouTube. The song received positive reviews, with listeners describing it as serene and peaceful. On March 31, 2020, Zeron released Yatra, a mesmerizing song dedicated to diasporic individuals longing for their homes. With Nepali lyrics and a fusion of modern and traditional Lepcha instruments, the song resonated with people who found themselves in the music. The accompanying music video beautifully depicted the simplistic yet peaceful life in the hills, complementing the song’s essence.
On Jan 2022 she worked on a collaborative project with a felllow lepcha artist Sunom and released a Lepcha song Lavo Zong. Lavo Zong has been thoroughly loved by the people even with the language barrier. And similarly towards the end of March 2022 released another Nepali song called Sapana Haru.
Working on an EP and few singles currently Zeron hopes to be a source of medium of music kind.
