Reny Rabina Soreng is a student pursuing Fashion Communication from National Institute of Fashion Technology, Chennai.
Hailing from Rourkela, she was always into creative things. She has been compelled to attend classes from home given the situation of the pandemic. Her biggest fear at present is having to graduate online as presently she is in her second year of college.
Her interest in Design came from Nature. She is enthralled by sketching and loves observing insects. As a student she has attended two years of online classes of college which she feels has left her with little option to explore unlike in a campus. Still she has managed to travel to places in her vicinity and was a part of some projects. She discovered an area called Film Appreciation through which she came across people from videography background. Her memorable projects include making patterns in textile employing the Ikat pattern of Odisha. Professionally she has worked as a model. Her short-term vision is to get into IIMC Delhi and pursue Fashion Journalism as a professional. She has been writing a blog about Tribal Art and Sustainability which she plans to keep as a part of her graduation project. She wants to work around misconceptions about sustainability where masses are misled to believe that sustainable products are expensive and non-functional. She wishes to create functional and affordable sustainable products that will help the community in the larger spectrum of things offering access to the common man and not contributing to climate change.
