About Careen Joplin Langstieh

Careen Joplin Langstieh is an artist from Shillong, Meghalaya. She draws her inspiration from her surroundings and has conducted workshops for art in the state. She has travelled to exhibit her artwork in India and abroad.
Careen’s works display an introspective exploration of her journey within the realm of her tribal community. While many of her paintings may be interpreted as a soliloquy wrung out from personal experiences, her works are an intricate fabric of her worldview woven in tandem with the ecology of her time.
Careen lives in Shillong. She is currently developing a concept installation revolving around indigenous materials and techniques of the Khasi tribe.
